Marriage…
Something most of us aren’t even thinking about. College is a time of exploration and finding your place on this enormous rock floating in space called Earth.
Well, ladies, according to Susan Palton (aka The Princeton Mom), college is the time to find your husband, because women will never find a better time. Looks will fade, eggs will go “like rats jumping off a sinking ship”, and the quality of men will drop after you graduate which for most women is before 25 years of age.
Unless you’re planning on experimenting with methamphetamines and cocaine after you throw your cap in the air, you looks will remain. I know women who can still get just about any man at 30 or 40 some even at 50 (but I never guess their age correctly).
Your precious eggs …. They’ll be with you for quite a while after your undergrad years. No rush to jump on the first man that says “I love you”.
The men I see in college are just brimming with potential as they chug alcohol via beer bong and look to their female counterparts for sexual pleasure or a good grade.
Sure there are a few good men who want more from the world, but of those men are not looking for their wife right now. Plus their uterus is not wasting away with time.
What does Susan Palton have to say about women in arranged marriages or those who go to the army or don’t see college as a part of their lives? Then the cougars of our society or the young women who find a significantly older man to love? There is not one path “I do”. Marriage comes in a plethora of ways.
