I know I’ll probably offend a few people out there with this topic: on and off relationships
You can call mean “old head”, “old soul”, or whatever, but my parents always told me the purpose of dating is finding your future spouse. At a young age, I was not thinking about marriage so I disregarded it for a while. Now I’m in college and want to start a family the second I land a job. I’m sure I’m not the only woman on campus who feels this way.

Plenty of my friends and colleagues have discussed the future according to them. It usually includes their current boyfriend/girlfriend, but one issue I cannot stand is the inconsistency of the relationship; one week they’re in love and the next, they’re at each other’s throats (sometimes literally). Across the board, the issues vary from “S/he doesn’t text me as much as before” to “we had a fight and s/he hit me".
1. If y’all can’t talk your issues out your marriage will more than likely suffer from communication problems?
2. If your significant other is abusive, there is not love – you need to leave and never return.
... or you could remain silent
To my surprise, my friends run back to their relationships and wonder why they’re not as satisfied as (insert “perfect couple” here).

In my relationship, we talk about everything and don’t abuse each other no matter how bad things are. We may get loud or disagree, but the ultimate punishment (2nd to breaking up is sleeping on the couch.
We aren’t perfect but I do see a future mate in my lady and hope for the best. As for many of the relationships (Homo/hetero/other) I hope they will learn the importance of sticking together “for better or for worse”, if they hope to have a future together.
